I actually had a vision of the image I wanted before I fit it into the context of a specific battle in this period. I haven't made up my mind yet about that. I'm currently much more focused on the technical side of my art, including verisimilitude (in order to start working professionally asap) but not so much the historical research side. But yes, I did in deed have Pyrrhus in mind as part of the general context.
As for the Diodotus picture. the image I have on my deviant art portfolio, under "ancient and medieval" is my (tentatively) finished version.
